Global Positioning System (C/N)

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite navigation system which provides time and location foro anything on Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. This system provides critical capabilities to military, civil, and commercial users all over the world. GPS is maintained by the United States government, and is freely accessible to anyone with a GPS receiver. The project was developed in 1973 in order to overcome the limitations of previous navigation systems.

A GPS receiver was used by Richard Levine to keep track of his location on Isla Sorna.
