“Brave or Monitor Lizard” was named by the high, thick spines on its back. It was discovered in 1966 and described in 1976 by Philippe Taquet. It was 7 meters (around 24ft.) in length and 3 tons in weight. Ouranosaurus lived in at 110 million years ago, during the Early Cretaceous Period in what is today North Africa. It is likely Ouranosaurus in the comics are smaller than the real animal.
