In addition to dinosaurs, InGen also engineered other forms of prehistoric life. One of these confirmed creatures are giant dragonflies. While lost in the Park at dawn, Tim, Lex, and Dr. Alan Grant encountered these at the lagoon. These dragonflies were red and had six-foot wingspans. Though their wings were transparent, they did have red veins along the length of the wing. When Tim extended his hand, one of the dragonflies landed on it. The insects offered no aggression toward the trio, and the landed dragonfly left when Tim moved his arm.
Although unconfirmed, it is believed that the dragonfly was a type of Meganeura. The problem being that specimens of this genus rarely exceeded a wingspan of thirty inches.
