Acrocanthosaurus is a species of very large carnivorous theropod dinosaur in the family Carcharodontosauridae. Its fossils have been found in North America. This dinosaur originally lived between 113 and 110 million years ago, during the Aptian and Albian ages of the early Cretaceous period. There is only one known species, Acrocanthosaurus atokensis.
