Amphicyon ingens (L/M)

Amphicyon is a genus of carnivorous mammal in the bear-dog family Amphicyonidae. It originally lived between 16.9 and 2.6 million years ago, from the Burdigalian to the Piacenzian ages of the Neogene period. The genus is found in fossil form throughout North America, Eurasia, and Africa. Amphicyon ingens, the particular species brought back from extinction, is from North America and lived from 15.8 to 14 million years ago. Other species of Amphicyon include:
