The 2022 BioSyn Valley incident was an investigation into and attempted cover-up of illegal activities in the BioSyn Genetics headquarters located in BioSyn Valley, Italy along with the BioSyn Genetics Sanctuary. During the incident, two separate groups of investigators were drawn to the valley. The first was searching for evidence that BioSyn had deliberately caused the 2022 hybrid locust plague as an effort to destroy competitor products. The second was a vigilante rescue operation for Maisie Lockwood, who had been kidnapped for research purposes by BioSyn operatives. This incident resulted in financial disaster for BioSyn and led to the valley being placed under direct observation by the United Nations, rather than corporate powers alone.
