Ceratosaurus is a genus of carnivorous theropod dinosaur in the family Ceratosauridae. Its fossils are found in western North America; it lived during the Kimmeridgian and Tithonian ages of the late Jurassic period, 161.2 to 145 million years ago. The type species is Ceratosaurus nasicornis.
