Crossbow (S/F)

The crossbow is a type of ranged weapon which uses an elastic launching device to fire bolts, somewhat like a mechanized version of a bow and arrow. They require less physical strength to operate, and therefore are easier to achieve precision strikes with. The earliest crossbows are known from the 7th century BC and were developed in ancient China.

A double crossbow is a variant of crossbow which can load two bolts at once, allowing it to be fired twice in a row without reloading.
