Kauai trip - looking for help

Post by CCtriad »

Hello,

my name is Chris, I'm from Germany and just registered on this messageboard ;)
I'm a huge fan of JP and I've been dreaming of visiting the filming locations ever since.

Luckily my dreams will come true and I'm planing a trip to Kauai this May.
The bad news is, I can't find a company to help me get to the location of the gates/T-Rex paddock.
(*Which is not true. I found ONE that asked for 580$ (!) )

I was told the road was in terrible shape and as I'm not used to driving offroad, I won't even try it.

Any ideas on how to get there?

Big thanks,
Chris

Hi there! I've never been myself, but it's definitely a bucket list item. I've also heard that it's in terrible shape. I think what most people do is drive up to as far as they can, and then hike the rest. I've no idea about getting to the trailhead, though. Like I said, I've never been but have looked into it.

At this point I'm really frustrated.

I would have imagined that there were offroad-willing drivers all over the island, but I'm not lucky.

It's not far, but it may be too far and dangerous to just walk up there.
If raining starts, you can easily get in trouble.
