The golden dewdrop (Duranta erecta) is a species of flowering plant in the vervain family Verbenaceae. It produces yellow berries and purple flowers. Its leaves and unripe berries are poisonous, and can be deadly to children and small animals. This plant is indigenous to Latin America, where it grows in recently-disturbed woodland and on sandy coastlines.
