A former Green Beret, Hammond mentioned him in his memoir. Hammond first met Greenwood in 1992. He asked a number of questions about the InGen technology. Hammond liked him as he claimed to be a friend of his former son-in-law. Greenwood was described as confident and dashing. Greenwood carried some sort of electronic device that was built from plans he found on the Internet.
