Malabar Almond (S/F)

The Malabar almond (Terminalia catappa), also called the country, sea, Indian, beach, or tropical almond, or the ketapang or false kamani, is a species of large tree in the leadwood family Combretaceae. It is native to coastal regions of the Indo-Pacific, though it is cultivated in captivity as well. Fruit and seeds from this tree are edible, and its leaves and bark have numerous medicinal uses. As of 2025, it was considered a species of least concern by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
