Standing at five hundred feet tall and holding the title as the tallest building in San Diego, One America Plaza is an obelisk-shaped building designed by Helmut Jahn, and stands in the waterfront district of the downtown San Diego area. Having thirty-four stories and being completed in 1991, the tower is a prominent fixture in the San Diego skyline.
During the San Diego Incident in 1997, the bull Tyrannosaurus was seen bellowing out towards the city, and One America Plaza is clearly seen in the backdrop of the tyrannosaur.
