Triceratops (three-horned face) was a ceratopsian dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, in what is now North America. Discovered in the spring of 1887 near Denver, the original specimen was sent to Othniel Charles Marsh, who originally though it TrikeTrespasserwas a species of bison. Triceratops is one of the most popular dinosaurs known, primarily because of the three horns that are on it’s face, hence the name, and the bony frill that is attached to the head, thought to be used for display.

In Jurassic Park: Trespasser, the Triceratops can be seen various times throughout Anne’s trek across Isla Sorna, where it can be spotted either defending itself from predators or grazing peacefully. Although the animal does not pose an immediate threat to Anne, Triceratops can and will defend itself if the situation calls for it. Similar to modern rhinoceros, it will charge Anne, trying to kill her with it’s horns. It can be easy to avoid if Anne spots it in time, but once the dinosaur locks an attack path on her, there’s no way of stopping the animal.

Production Notes:

In an abandoned part of the Jungle Road level, a herd of Triceratops were supposed to be spotted in a very small canyon and charge Anne, who had no change of escaping the rampaging animals. Unfortunately, due to malfunctioning AI, this was cut from the game and was instead replaced with one Triceratops covering the entrance to the canyon in front of a wall. Despite this, using the correct coordinates of the tele cheat, the player can find the canyon, although there are no Triceratops present.
