University of Denver (C/N)

The University of Denver (DU) was founded in 1864. It’s the oldest private university in the Rocky Mountain area of the United States. Currently, there are 5,000 undergraduates and 6,000 graduate students. Originally founded as the “Colorado Seminary”, it was a Methodist institution with the hopes of helping to civilize the newly formed city of Denver.

Circa 1989, Dr. Alan Grant was a professor of paleontology at the University of Denver. His student, Ellie Sattler, specialized in paleobotany and did general field preparation at the dig site in Snakewater. Following the Incident at Isla Nublar, Grant left the University of Denver for Montana State University.
