Wheatley’s Base Camp – Isla Nublar (S/F)

Ken Wheatley‘s base camp was a temporary inland base of operations on Isla Nublar, Costa Rica used by mercenary hunters led by Ken Wheatley, who worked under the employ of Lockwood Foundation manager Eli Mills. Its exact location was unknown, but believed to be in the north of the island, within visible view of Mount Sibo. It was some distance by vehicle from the East Dock, which was the primary offloading center for the illicit harvest operation. The base camp was established in June 2018 and abandoned on June 23 directly after the eruption of Mount Sibo that same year. The camp was of moderate size, sitting just outside of park perimeter fencing, and near either an abandoned or make-shift air strip that was large enough to land a medium sized private plane upon. The camp was organized with several tents surrounding an open common area. The camp had tents for various uses including communications, supply storage, and medical attention. Cargo containers were also used in the partial construction of some of the tents.
