Carnotaurus is a genus of large theropod dinosaur in the family Abelisauridae. It lived between 71 and 69 million years ago, during the Maastrichtian stage of the Cretaceous period. Fossilized remains of this dinosaur have been found in South America. There is just one known species, Carnotaurus sastrei.
