Roman candles are a medium-to-large pyrotechnic device that shoots off fireworks when ignited. These are launched in the form of pyrotechnic stars, small nuggets of flammable chemicals which burn brightly and give off sparks. Because they often malfunction, Roman candles are restricted or banned in some areas.
