Kebab (S/F-CCJW)

Kebab is a Middle Eastern grilled or roasted meat dish, often consisting of ground meat served with vegetables and other accompaniments. It has been popularized worldwide through Iranian and Turkish cuisine. Some of the most famous varieties are shish kebab, which is served on a skewer, and doner kebab, which is served with bread. Kebab was invented by the 10th century CE, confirmed by its presence in the earliest known Arabic cookbook, Kitab al-Tabikh by author Ibn Sayyar al-Warraq.
