Lima Bean (S/F)

The Lima bean (Phaseolus lunatus), also called the Siva bean, double bean, or butter bean, is a species of legume in the family Faboideae. It is native to Latin America and is harvested for its edible seeds. Two different groups of people domesticated this bean plant throughout history: it was first grown in the Andes around 2000 BCE, and then was independently cultivated in Mesoamerica around 800 CE. Today the Lima bean is grown all over the world.
