The Apple Macintosh IIci is an American-made personal desktop computer produced by Apple Computer, Inc. from September 1989 to February 1993. It is an upgraded version of the Macintosh IIcx, which was also released in 1989. Eventually it was replaced with the Macintosh Quadra, beginning with the Quadra 700 which released in 1991.
