Distilled water is a type of purified water which, through evaporation out of one container and subsequent condensation into a second clean container, has had many of its impurities removed. This process has been used to turn seawater into drinkable water since at least 340 BCE, being described by Aristotle, and in the modern day has applications in chemical and biological science as well as industry.
