2022 DPW Smuggling Scandal (S/F-CCJW)

In late 2022, corruption within the Department of Prehistoric Wildlife was uncovered and exposed. The intergovernmental organization, which formed in 2019 in order to respond to the presence of de-extinct animals in the wild and in the illegal exotic animal trade, was found to have high-ranking members making backroom deals with underground market networks such as the Amber Clave. The apparent ringleader of the corruption within the DPW was American West regional director Dudley Cabrera, who was killed at the order of one of his benefactors when the scandal came under independent investigation. His was one of several murders associated with this scandal.
