Garden Strawberry (S/F)

The garden strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa) is a domesticated hybrid species of strawberry, a fruit-bearing plant in the family Rosaceae. They were first bred in Brittany, France in the 1750s by cross-breeding the Virginia strawberry (Fragaria virginiana) and Chilean strawberry (Fragaria chiloensis) and have since become cultivated around the world. They are farmed for their edible accessory fruits.
