Superior Court of Costa Rica (S/F)

The Superior Courts of Costa Rica, or Courts of Appeal (Spanish: Tribunal de Apelación) are appellate courts of the Costa Rican federal government’s judicial branch. They are subordinate to the Supreme Court of Justice, and are superior to trial judges. It is their job to rule upon the facts of a case and interpret laws relevant to the case.

Props made for The Lost World: Jurassic Park mention the Superior Court of Costa Rica in documents related to lawsuits brought on by injuries sustained to Costa Rican citizens employed by InGen in the 1990s. The wording implies that Costa Rica has only one Superior Court, which is inaccurate; it has one Supreme Court and three Superior Courts (cassation courts) which are subordinate to the Supreme Court.
