The Boeing 757, formerly called the 7N7 during production, is an American-made narrow-body airliner manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It began development in 1978, had its maiden flight in February 1982, and was certified by the Federal Aviation Administration in December 1982. Production ended in October 2004, though many remain in service by various airlines.
