Corn Dog (S/F-CCJW)

A corn dog is a German-American fried food made from a hot dog dipped in cornmeal batter, typically served on a stick. Corn dogs were invented in the 1920s in Texas, with the earliest references coming from 1926. They are now eaten all over the world, and known by a variety of names; in Australia, for example, they are called “pluto pups” (if factory-made) or “dagwood dogs” (if served fresh).
