CQS Gene Sequencer (S/F-AJW)

CQS gene sequencers are computerized machines used by International Genetic Technologies for determining the order of nucleotides in a strand of DNA, the process known as gene sequencing.

This device has only appeared in the video game Jurassic World: Aftermath, and the meaning of the acronym ‘CQS’ is currently unknown. It may stand for Consensus Quality Score, a metric used in gene sequencing which reports the accuracy of nucleotide identification and the frequency of substitution errors. It may also mean Chromosome Quotient Sequencing, as the chromosome quotient or CQ is a method of systematically discovering genes in the Y chromosome of animals. Instead, CQS may also stand for the Center for Quantitative Sciences, a division of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center which produces gene sequencing software.
