Magnetic Stirrer (S/F-AJW)

A magnetic stirrer, also called a magnetic mixer, is a laboratory device which uses a rotating magnetic field to stir liquid. This is done via a stir bar immersed in the liquid inside a container on top of the stir plate. As the magnetic field rotates, it causes the stir bar to rapidly spin. The first magnetic stirrer was patented on October 9, 1917 by American inventor Richard H. Stringham.
