Elephant grass (Tripidium ravennae), also known as ravennagrass or hardy pampas grass, is a species of grass in the subfamily Panicoideae. Its blades can grow up to a meter in height, and it is commonly sold as an ornamental plant; originally native to Mediterranean Eurasia and southern Asia, it is now an invasive species in North America. It favors wet environments, such as riverbanks and marshlands.
