An emergency distress beacon (EDB) is a digital radio transmitter device intended to broadcast a distress signal in the event of an emergency in which normal communications are inoperable. Masrani Global Corporation utilized these devices in the Jurassic World theme park, intending to relay the occurrence of an emergency situation to their mainland offices in the event that for any reason they could not reach help through normal channels.
