Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is an animated series originally scheduled to be streamed on Netflix as of August 2020, but delayed until September due to issues tied to the COVID-19 pandemic. Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is produced by Dreamworks Animation and Amblin Entertainment, via Universal Pictures. The series deals with the story of six teenagers chosen for an exclusive adventure camp on the other side of Isla Nublar at Jurassic World.

The original press release was described as “Six Teens attending an adventure camp on the opposite side of Isla Nublar must band together to Survive when Dinosaurs wreak havoc.” A second press release revealed the cast and the characters that they will voice. “The voice cast features Paul-Mikél Williams as resident dinosaur expert Darius; Jenna Ortega as social media sensation Brooklynn; Ryan Potter as self-appointed VIP Kenji; Raini Rodriguez as gregarious and enthusiastic Sammy; Sean Giambrone as sensitive and bookish Ben; and Kausar Mohammed as world-class athlete Yaz. Elsewhere, Jameela Jamil and Glen Powell recur as camp counselors Roxie and Dave.”
With the knowledge that the story itself will begin in 2015 and happen alongside the 2015 Isla Nublar Incident, we can expect a series that would run concurrently with the events of the fourth film from another perspective. A novelization will be released simultaneously with season one in August 2020 and encompass the entire first season of the show. The series spawned an associated toy line as well. After difficulties due to the coronavirus, the series premiere was on September 18th, 2020, and the show is distributed exclusively by Netflix, with the first season running eight episodes.
The second season premiered on January 22nd, 2021, and also ran for eight episodes. A third season was released on May 21, 2021 and ran ten episodes. The fourth season is set was released on December 4, 2021, and ran eleven episodes. The fifth and final season was released on July 21, 2022, and ran for twelve episodes. On November 15, 2022, a multiple choice episode entitled ‘Hidden Adventure’ was released, with many branching paths. Camp Cretaceous is executive produced by Colin Trevorrow, Steven Spielberg, and Frank Marshall, with the EP/Showrunners being Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley. The series concept was developed by Zack Stentz.
