One or more species of firefly, beetles in the family Lampyridae, inhabit the island of Isla Nublar. The species have not been identified due to only their bioluminescence having been depicted. There are around twenty species of fireflies found in Costa Rica in real life, and the fictional Isla Nublar may have its own species as well. Fireflies are well-known for their bioluminescence, which they utilize to attract mates.
