Palladium (S/F-JWE)

Palladium (Pd) is a chemical element with atomic number 46. It is the least dense of the platinum-group metals, and has a low melting point but is solid under standard observational conditions. Palladium has a silvery-white luster, and is chiefly used in catalytic converters for vehicles; other applications include dentistry, water treatment, and aesthetics.
