The San Diego Chargers were an American professional football team based out of San Diego, California. They were founded in 1961, having played one season in the year prior as the Los Angeles Chargers before relocating to San Diego and changing their name. After their final season in 2016, they relocated back to Los Angeles and reverted to their original name.
