A second pride of female Velociraptor antirrhopus nublarensis was imported to Isla Nublar from Isla Sorna in June 1993 to replace five which had been killed by The Big One earlier in the year. However, while they were being held in a quarantine pen, John Hammond made the decision not to feature Velociraptor in Jurassic Park, replacing them with Herrerasaurus; the replacement raptors escaped during the 1993 Isla Nublar incident.
