Selfie Stick (S/F-CCJW)

A selfie stick is a photography device used to hold a digital camera, typically a smartphone, at a distance from the user in order to enable taking a picture of oneself without the aid of another person. While modern selfie sticks were popularized in the 2000s and early-to-mid-2010s, the concept behind this technology can be traced back to 1925, in which a box camera was first outfitted with a remote shutter in the form of a stick.
