The toco toucan (Rhamphastus toco), also called the common or giant toucan, is a species of bird in the toucan family Rhamphastidae. It is native to semi-open woodland in eastern South America. Relative to its body size, it has the largest beak of any known bird; its beak contains up to half of its total body surface area. There are two subspecies of toco toucan: R. t. toco inhabits northeastern South America, whereas R. t. albogularis is found in the southeast.
