Agama Bean (S/F)

The agama bean is a species of legume found in the Muertes Archipelago. Its scientific name is unknown, as is most information about it, because it is fictional and has only been mentioned in passing by Dr. Sarah Harding as a source of lysine for wild animals. The word “agama” has several meanings: it is the Malay word for religion, and refers to religious texts in Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism; it is also the name of a genus of agamid lizards, and parthenogenesis is sometimes called agamic reproduction. How any of these relate to a species of tropical bean is unknown.
